Diego López defended the Whites’ goal in the Camp Nou and was elated after the match: "It was a lesson, a perfect match, a 1-3 says it all. It was an important game against a great team. We played a first-rate match. The approach was unbeatable. The team was very calm throughout the match. We tried to stop [Barcelona’s] best skills and controlled the game well on the defence. We gave an enormous effort and Cristiano was formidable. We were a great team and they were unable to beat us”.

As for the upcoming Liga Clásico on Saturday at the Bernabéu, the goalkeeper stressed the importance of this victory: "It gives us a lot of confidence. The Liga is another competition and they’ll come out for the win, so we have this match as an example to beat”.
