Real Madrid continue to work on their day off

Although this was an official day off, work continued for the technical staff and several members of the first team squad at the Real Madrid Football City. As ever, Jose Mourinho was present at Valdebebas alongside the rest of his technical staff, with no exceptions, to continue with preparations for the decisive games that his team will play in the coming weeks. Marcelo, Higuain, Pepe, Callejon, Diego Lopez and Jesus trained on the field, while Casillas continued with his recovery programme indoors. Arbeloa trained at evening with Marcelo and Higuain too.
Higuain and Marcelo, with their own particular work programme, trained intensively under the instructions of Rui Faria. They carried out a number or coordination, strength and speed-based exercises, races between cones and markings and short and long sprints and, of course, work with the ball. In another area of the pitch, Callejon and Pepe carried out a series of physical exercises and tempo runs while Diego Lopez and Jesus completed their own particular training programme alongside the goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro.

They all worked under the watchful eye of one Jose Mourinho who took in every single detail of the session alongside his assistants. Iker Casillas was also at the Real Madrid Football City as he continued with his recovery from injury indoors. Tomorrow, the full squad will return to training at 11 am.

In the afternoon, Higuain and Marcelo continued with their own particular programme and completed a second session which included Alvaro Arbeloa.
