The Realmadrid Foundation continues its expansion throughout Europe. The Foundation has officially presented its newest social-athletic school in Bucharest, Romania, to benefit students from rural and urban schools who have problems adapting or whose families are in economic hardship. The aim is to collaborate through sport in the fight against school drop-outs, far too common in these districts.
Julio Gonzalez Ronco, Realmadrid Foundation managing director, together with an international Foundation delegation, wanted to attend the presentation to demonstrate their satisfaction with the project. Thanks to the collaboration of the Dezvoltarea Popoarelor Foundation, the City Council of Bucharest’s Zone 3 and the Vodafone Romania Foundation, over 80 children between the ages of 7 and 15 have received comprehensive schooling based on the values of sport since November. The Realmadrid Foundation technical team travelled to Bucharest that same month to conduct the “They play, we teach” training course ahead of the school’s opening.
